A special collaboration for Valentine’s Day, 2021

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we’ve teamed up with local florist and artist Hattie Molloy. Known for her contemporary artistry, she reflects contemporary Australian landscapes using florals and object.

The collaboration centres around custom window exhibits portraying essences of florals and fruits, using this fusion to create a multi-sensory experience.

Inspired by her nostalgic connection with florals, owner Lisa Valmorbida has created three custom gelato flavours inspired by Hattie’s floral installation, MY HEART ONLY BEATS FOR YOU – also tying closely with this summers’ abundance of flavour and blossoms, in season.

From Thursday 11 February until Sunday 14 February Pidapipo will be offering limited flavour combinations at all three stores, including Lavender and Meringue, Elderflower Caramel and Rose and Raspberry Swirl.

For Hattie and Lisa, it was important that this collaboration reflected their mutual love for good flavour, creativity and the euphoria of connection.

“Pidapipo is exciting because it brings a fun and fresh approach to gelato. Those who are regulars at Pidapipó (like me!) know it’s more than just going for gelato, it’s a whole experience. Designing an exhibit with this concept in mind for Valentine’s Day has been a great opportunity to extend this experiential sentiment for customers – who will be out and about celebrating elements such as love, excitement and vibrancy with their partners or friends,” says Molloy.

A nod to the passion and intricacies of love, MY HEART ONLY BEATS FOR YOU is a thoughtful expression of how nature and flavour intertwine and blossom to create individual meaning. Inspired by adventures through urban and natural landscapes, it is reflective of not only the land’s current offerings but how nature connects to our emotions – and to our palates.

Valentine’s Day is celebrated in multiple ways and with various meanings – and that’s the beauty of it.
